The Blue Streak

Driven from home, the "Streak" changes his mode of living entirely. News of his adventurous spirit penetrates even into the town of Sterling, beyond the Rockies, where he one day finds himself. He strolls into the common meeting-place there, the saloon, and proceeds to prevent a forced marriage between the proprietor's daughter, "The Fledgling," and a gambler by the simple expedient of covering all with his revolver while preparing to make her captive himself.

A Disturbance in the High Desert

A DISTURBANCE IN THE HIGH DESERT is a dramatic short-film that transports us to 1920s Eastern Oregon in the shadow of Mt. Hood. As economic hardship spreads, hateful forces and laws threaten the safety of those deemed "inferior" or "defective". Mare and Gemma are lovers who find each other while living a fragile existence in this rugged, unforgiving west. We meet them after Gemma endures a nighttime assault by an unexpected perpetrator on the outskirts of their ranch, a tenuous safe haven. The certainty of right and wrong blurs. Familial ties are tested.

West of the Alamo

Despite his unprepossessing screen personality, singing cowboy Jimmy Wakely was starred in a series of Monogram westerns, one of which was West of the Alamo. Wakely and comedy sidekick Lee "Lasses" White play a pair of government agents who work undercover to solve a series of baffling crimes. It comes to no one's surprise that the criminal mastermind is the town's leading citizen, in this case banker Clay Bradford (Jack Ingram). As was typical in the Wakely westerns, West of the Alamo is approximately 25 percent action and 75 percent musical. Among the guest warblers this time out is the Arthur Smith Trio, headed by a gospel singer who'd later emcee a popular religious TV talk show.

Hawk of the Hills

Exciting late-silent 10-episode serial, with all the hallmarks of the genre, including daring cavalry rescues, gold robbers and, of course, the beautiful white girl being burned at the stake by indians. Later re-edited into a feature-length film of the same name.
