Africa, I Will Fleece You

1993

This documentary of repressive political realities in Cameroon begins with the 1990 publication of an open letter to President Biya calling for a national conference - and the immediate arrest of the letter's author and publisher. The narration then examines the nation's colonial history, beginning with the first German missionary in 1901, the establishment of schools, French occupation following World War I, the paucity of books written by and published by Cameroonians, and the repression of the CPU, a leftist organization of the 1950s and 1960s. Cameroon and its people are the lark, its feathers plucked first by colonialism and then by native strongmen: 'Alouette, je te plumerai.'

For the first time, women, joined by men and students, took the initiative and removed their veils, the hated symbol of the Islamic Republic. The Iranian population, from all regions and social categories, rose up in protest. Social networks went wild. The diaspora (between 5–8 million Iranians) took up the cause, and the whole world discovered the scale of this mobilization: could the theocratic regime be overthrown this time?

Pink Triangles, Homosexuals Facing Nazism

2024

A documentary that traces the lives of men and women persecuted by the Third Reich because of their sexual orientation. Beginning with the social and political context of the 1920s, when European society still "tolerated" homosexuality, it details the mechanisms of repression and brings to life the hell experienced by the victims in the concentration camps. It also recalls the long road traveled by the victims to obtain the decriminalization of homosexuality and recognition of the harm suffered during this dark period in history. While the film traces the martyrdom of homosexuals and lesbians, it does not fail to place this story in a wider perspective and to bring together in a single memory all the victims of Nazi cruelty.
