Byron Chief-Moon: Grey Horse Rider

Actor, dancer, and choreographer, Chief-Moon is founder of the Coyote Arts Percussive Performance Association, and member of the Blackfoot Confederacy, member of the Blood Band. Through his art and his life, Chief-Moon's story is one of cultural survival. Themes of his dance creations begin with his people's traditional stories, his attachment to the land and his community, as well as the inner conflict he faces in existing within the Aboriginal culture and the wider community. The documentary also explores his identity as a First Nations two-spirited gay man and a father of three adopted children. His art and his life cross boundaries. Challenging the cultural construct is never easy; but Chief-Moon does.

Decembers

The ghost of a photo-journalist killed during the December 1989 US invasion of Panama returns exactly 10 years later to resolve his family’s conflicts. Inspired by the story of his own family, in his feature-length debut, Enrique Costas Ríos poetically blends together archival footage and fictional scenes that recreate events from the invasion while tracing links to the true-life story of Spanish journalist Juantxu Rodriguez who was killed during the invasion.

Albatros, The Film Adventure Of The White Russians In Paris

The film studio "Albatros" was founded in 1920 by Russian emigre filmmakers who had left Russia after the 1917 revolution. From 1920 to 1929 the studio "Albatros" and Russian filmmakers will literally upset the French cinema by bringing a specificity of their own. The phenomenal success of the films of the studio "Albatros" will give a second life to the French cinema then in crisis by propelling it to the first world ranking in competition with Hollywood. At the head of this small studio born one evening in February 1920 in Montreuil were two Russian producers: Joseph Ermolaev and Alexandr Kamenka.

Gypsy Side

Márió, Luigi, and Mr. Joker finish each other’s sentences in a ruined inner courtyard shaded by tree of heaven. They rap, gesticulate, and dance, while the girls and little siblings watch them. Beatbox or freestyle: it makes no difference, they are cool in every style. They record it, edit it, and then do it all over again—they do it themselves; the computer is right there in the corner of the room. In the afternoon, they register their tracks at Artisjus.

I, Daniel

Julia meets Daniel, a musician who is stranded in Cuxhaven. She is immediately drawn to his talent and vulnerability and decides to make a film about him. However, the project takes an unexpected turn when Daniel begins to communicate with Julia through long video messages, expressing his desire to run away with her. At first, she is intrigued but as time goes on she becomes overwhelmed by his demands and begins to question the power dynamics of their relationship.

Georges Bernier, alias Professor Choron, died January 10, 2005. He was 75 years old. The few death notices that appeared in the French press mainly focused on the scatological nature of his humor, or on the good man's provocative side. No one recalled the essential, which was that with his passing not only had one of the great proprietors of the French press disappeared, but he'd taken with him an artist in his own right, quite unique in his own way : Professor Choron.
